Trish Lethbridge (Director)

Trish When I graduated from Beauty school in 1988, I went to work for my sister who had a salon in Brisbane. It was a small but busy little place on Creek St Brisbane City, in a mall that’s no longer there. I was put in the line of fire right away and had to learn fast or I’d be on the wrong end of a stinging tongue. The beauty business was a lot different then, fewer regulations and soap and water clientele who knew nothing about moisturizers and cleansers let alone skin care. Clients that would put up with things that we would gasp at today, recycled wax, therapists constantly leaving the room to attend to the other facials they were doing, cigarette smoke over the manicure table, the electrolysis needle being saved for the next time that client came back.

There were not many salons around then, doctors scoffed at the notion of putting creams on your skin, and called it hope in a jar. What a change from today, where some doctors and specialists are actually doing facials and selling skin care products.

My sister sold the salon I was working in and 3 months out of beauty school I was looking for a job.

I decided to open my own salon and within 2 years had 2 prosperous salons in shopping centers in Brisbane, both of which are still running today.

I almost didn’t open them in the shopping centers because no one had ever opened a Beauty salon in a shopping centre before, at least not too my knowledge, and I wasn’t getting any positive feed back from anyone about it except my father. Needless to say I took his advice and learned my first of many important business lessons. “Always listen and you’ll find out how too and how not to do things.”

After selling those2 businesses I moved to Toowoomba to get out of the big city and start a new business. When I heard the same advice again not to open in the new shopping centre I knew exactly what to do and Skin Sensations opened in Grand Central Shopping centre in August of 1998.

Ten years old next year, Skin Sensations keeps going from strength to strength with one of the best team of therapists I’ve ever had. We keep innovating, getting new equipment and introducing new treatments that we think work. Our focuses more than ever has become the skin and care for the skin. We focus on results, and with technology gripping the beauty industry as with everything, excellent products are being developed that work well and light therapies like IPL and Omnilux give incredible results.

It’s an exciting time to be in the skin care industry and we hope that our excitement and dedication to “result based treatments” and customer service leave you feeling “WOWed” with the Skin Sensation experience. I know we still keep being amazed day after day and that keeps us fresh and motivated.

Above all would like to thank our customers and clients for their support and kindness throughout the years. Without you there would be no Skin Sensations. Without you I wouldn’t have been given the chance to be saying thank you!

Melissa (Director of Customer Satisfaction)

Melissa Hello my Name is Melissa Moohen

Skin Sensations is one of the top Skin care clinics in Australia, and I am proud to work in such an up to date, high achieving, hard working skin treatment centre. As manager I encourage in results! Results with our clients, working with our clients skin concerns with and offering our broad range of experienced and expertise at all levels.

I’ve been a team member working with Skin Sensations for 5 ½ years and for 2 of those years I have been managing the Salon and taking care of my team mates. I have not stop learning, studying and working towards excellence from the time I started my diploma at Southern Queensland Institute of Technology where I won regional best beauty therapist for the World Skills Competition 2004.

I have completed numerous courses and certificates to keep myself well educated and full of knowledge to pass on to all of my clients and younger team members at Skin Sensations.

The following are a list of my achievements:

  • 1,2 and 4 day classes at the Institute of Dermal Technology including the effects of pigment, sun, acne, wrinkles and ageing on the skin
  • Specialized Laser Course for the QLD wide Laser Licensing at Prince Alexander in Brisbane
  • Paramedical Aestheticians Course to gain more knowledge into the care of skin in the medical industry
  • Advanced Training for IPL Quantum
  • Advanced Training for OMNLIUX Revive
  • Certificate 4 in Frontline Management to continue, maintain and improve our team level greatness
  • Participated in Dermalogica’s Therapists Big Day Out in Sydney where I met the top scientist behind the ingredients researched and made for our wonderful product Dermalogica a billion dollar corporation.
  • Advanced Training for Intraceuticals Oxygen Therapy Machine where I meet and learnt from the creator of the Oxygen Therapy and the Machine

I love the atmosphere, competition and especially enjoy working with wonderful team mates. I love working with our results driven products, Dermalogica, Glymed Plus and our Intraceuticals 02 line, as well as our fantastic IPL Quantum Machine

Kristy (Director of Tender Loving Care)

Kristy Hello, my name is Kristy May – Director of TLC! I have been a proud member of the SKIN SENSATIONS teams since April 2005. After completing Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy at Toowoomba TAFE, graduating at the top of my class and winning many awards along the way, I have since completed qualified training in Electrolysis, Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, Body Piercing and many more. It is my passion to continue updating my experience and knowledge about the skin and how to deliver only the best results to my clients with the latest technology and advice.

In 2006 I entered an international competition (World Skills) where my knowledge and skills were tested against the best in the industry. I am proud to say I placed first at the state level and came fifth in Australia.

The thing I love most about SKIN SENSATIONS is not only the outstanding treatments and products we offer but our friendly and highly professional environment. We are all great friends here at SKIN SENSATIONS and we all share the same goals and passion for the skin and our clients which allows us to work fantastically as a team – the #1 Skin Treatment Centre in the Darling Downs in my opinion. When you come to visit, my promise to you is that you will receive service and advice that is always above and beyond your expectations!

Jodie About Me
When I left high school I really wasn’t sure what it was that I wanted to do. At the time I was a checkout assistant at a supermarket and it made me realize that there are many people out there who don’t actually enjoy what they do each day. I knew that I didn’t want to be one of those people, so I went to college and studied beauty therapy.

As a young girl growing up I was always a real ‘girly girl’, so beauty therapy seemed right up my ally.

I undoubtedly have one of the best jobs anyone could wish for. The opportunities in this industry are endless. Each day at Skin Sensations is filled with variety, new challenges, rewards, fun and friendship.

The girls I work with are my best friends, and together we work to create a professional, caring and hygienic environment for you to come and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take a little time out for yourself whilst improving the quality of your skin.

Miranda (Director of Insanely Great Treatments)

Mirranda Hi. I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Miranda – Director of Insanely Great Treatments, and I am proud to be part of the SKIN SENSATIONS award winning team. Beauty Therapy has been a passion of mine for quite a number of years and I am proud to say I graduated top of my class and have won many awards and trophies for my work and professionalism.

I hold a diploma in Beauty Therapy and license application for laser therapy. I love excelling in all aspects of my work.

I’d be happy to consult with you on any you may have and look forward to seeing and helping you with any concerns you may have about your skin.
